Preseli Ltd Expands Operations and Targets Net Zero with Carbon Reduction Support

Preseli Ltd, a global supplier of promotional products nearing its 35th year in business, is expanding operations while working towards a net zero future.

The Flint-based company has successfully reduced its carbon footprint after receiving a grant from the Carbon Reduction Feasibility Fund. Delivered by Antur Cymru Enterprise, with support from Pathway to Carbon Zero and Litegreen Ltd, in partnership with Flintshire County Council, the fund has been instrumental in helping Preseli transition towards more sustainable practices. A trade-only importer and supplier of merchandise and promotional goods, Preseli collaborated with Pathway to Carbon Zero and Litegreen to find eco-friendly solutions for decarbonising its Castle Park headquarters and warehouse.

The company has also constructed a new, environmentally friendly office space. Additionally, Preseli is exploring renewable energy options and has expanded its range of green services, switching to sea freight where possible to further reduce emissions. “As a company, we’re very aware of the carbon impact of our industry and want to take proactive steps to reduce our footprint,” said Dave Wilson, Managing Director of Preseli Ltd. “Having access to support from consultant Becky Morgan has been invaluable. Her expertise is helping us develop long-term carbon reduction strategies.” With the guidance of Pathway to Carbon Zero, Preseli has initiated several eco-friendly projects, including the installation of solar panels, light sensors in restrooms, and LED lighting throughout the premises.

The company is also encouraging sustainable practices like turning off electrical appliances when not in use, reviewing staff transport, and replacing old appliances with energy-efficient alternatives. Preseli’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond its operations. The company is recycling polyester lanyards into RPET pellets, donating to relevant charities, and has joined local initiatives like Flint Litter Pickers to help create a litter-free business zone. “This has been a very positive journey for us,” Wilson said. “The support we’ve received through the Carbon Reduction Feasibility Fund has been invaluable, and we are now much more confident in our approach to sustainability.”

The Carbon Reduction Feasibility Fund, which is targeted at organisations in Flintshire, has received £297,294 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It provides businesses with specialist advice on how to become more sustainable, along with guidance on equipment, energy use, and methods that can help reduce their carbon footprint while boosting profitability. Fund Manager Rowan Jones expressed optimism about the program’s impact: “It’s great to hear such positive feedback from Preseli Ltd. I’m confident that the results will have a lasting effect, not only for Preseli but for other companies across the region as well.”
